Speed Sculpt W.I.P

This is a speed sculpt I've been working on, just a quick sketch of a goblin, I didn't really know what I wanted to make I just started sculpting and was focusing on sculpting main the forms quickly.

I might get round to texturing and rendering it properly eventually.

Alien Sketch

Quick alien doodle I done in Zbrush, I spent about an hour sculpting and another hour for composting.  Its a pretty rough piece but I really wanted to capture a blank, emotionless stare which I think makes it eerie and mysterious.

Rendering Test

I've been pretty busy past few weeks so I haven't had time to start anything new, but I did some render tests using Maya. 

Im using the misss fast skin shader here,  I was messing around with different light settings and had a go at making some SSS skin maps.  Its not perfect, I'm still getting used to this shader and how it works and the texture is poly painted in Zbrush so its really rough
 I done a lot of experimenting, tweaking the settings loads to get a good result, it takes a lot of patience and trial & error to get this stuff right! still lots to learn.



My light set up was pretty basic, I used a mia physical light shader on the area light to get realistic light decay and shadows, the spotlights use raytrace shadows.

Stylized Character

I finally finished a character I had been working on for a few months, I had to take a big pause due to formatting my computer, but anyway it is complete!

I was going for a cartoon look here, I wanted to create something a little different to my usual stuff to show some diversity in my portfolio.  The texture is very rough, I will eventually create a game res mesh and texture him properly.
