Zspheres
Zspheres help me a lot as a character artist, I love using them for quick base meshes. They're way faster than modeling your bases in Maya! of course some stuff is better done in Maya but zspheres are wicked for playing around with proportions and in this case quick hands.
I started out with z spheres for this guys hand and then posed them the way I wanted them, took me ages and gave me a big headache but I eventually got there. You can see my progression below, the base was simple to create but the hard parts come after when your sculpting to get them looking great. So a tip when using zspheres be patient and focus, you'll get there in the end!
PS. Finished model coming VERY soon!!

More Speed Sculpting!
Been messing around in Zbrush, practicing some sculpting techniques...
I might get around to finishing it off if I get some spare time.

New Character W.I.P
I started a new character this week, I wanted to create something cartoony and stylized with hand painted textures. My inspiration for this guy came from the ukka ukka masks from Crash Bandicoot and I named him Uga Buga. Check out my portfolio for a bigger view on the concept.
The concept I done was really rough, when I got into production I played around with my proportions a little more, exaggerating some features.
